TCEC 2012: Elevating Your CTE Career

The 2012 Texas Career Education Conference encompasses multiple sessions, trainings and events designed for CTE professionals to expand your professional expertise and help your career be fulfilling and rewarding. In just three and a half days, you are exposed to knowledge from the best minds in the field enabling you to find solutions to challenges facing your district and classroom. You will leave with resources to improve classroom efficiency and instruction and increase student engagement.
In addition to more than 200 breakout sessions on topics relevant for multiple career and technical disciplines, TCEC provides opportunities for new and veteran teachers alike. New Teacher Training is available for those new to the classroom in order to become better equipped for the first school year. ATC Training is also provided for teachers wishing to become ATC certified. The CTE Training Institute has been created to elevate professional standards, enhance individual performance and designate CTE professionals who demonstrate the knowledge essential to the practice of managing CTE programs across the state of Texas. Several courses of the training institute are offered at the summer conference.
Attendees may attend a a new exhibit of The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, The Economy in Action. This exhibit offers an opportunity for educators to broaden their understanding of the Federal Reserve System and the Eleventh District’s economy.
Robin Painovich, executive director of the Career and Technology Association of Texas, will provide legislative and policy updates and how you can best advocate for CTE.
